When I first came into the pantry in 2019, I knew it was the place I was to be a part of long term. My past experience of rebuilding and expanding organizations has helped to grow the Food Pantry’s effectiveness and reach.

I’m passionate about people and our community, and love working on creative ways to build networks that promote positive change. Over the last couple years, we have visioned what a transformed community could look like in Bristol – a community that thrives in all areas.

That vision became "The Hub". It’s exciting to see new programs that bridge, serve and transform our community into a place people are proud to call “home”. Someone once asked me, “why Bristol”, and I replied, “why not Bristol?”

Hello! My name is Sarah, I’m the Food Resource Manager for the Bristol Community Food Pantry. Primarily, I’m responsible for ordering food, receiving food donations, as well as working with our volunteers, making sure the pantry stays stocked!

The Hub has been such an amazing opportunity, not only serving but really getting to know the people in our area and meeting needs as they come. This may be unlike any job I’ve had before, but it is second nature to be working in an area that is building up this community. I’m so privileged to serve those around me in our "neighborship" (as my husband calls it) truly loving, serving, and gaining real relationship with those around me.

I grew up in Elkhart County and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, earning a degree in elementary education. My early work experience was as a teacher. After moving my family back to the area from Atlanta in 2009, I began seeking positions of service. I worked for 8 years in a local church as a communications administrator. Later, I served at an area drug and alcohol treatment center and most recently as a State Eligibility Consultant at the Elkhart Division of Family Resources. I have a heart for community, connecting with people and providing resources that will increase the quality of life for both individuals and families.

As the Life Resources Director for The Hub, I look forward to serving Bristol and being a part of an organization that will grow and evolve to meet the needs of Washington Township.
